Award Nominations!!

Elise Estrada, Suzy McNeil nominated for new artist awards

Canada's hottest music stars will be honoured at the 2008 Canadian Radio Music Awards (CRMA). The tradition continues at this prestigious gala luncheon with Elise Estrada, Faber Drive, Hayley Sales, Jessie Farrell, State of Shock and Suzie McNeil bringing performances to the table and Jully Black as host.

Presented by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB), the 11th Annual CRMAs take place Friday, March 7th at 12:30 p.m. at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, as part of Rogers MusicStore CANADIAN MUSIC WEEK.

Vancouver pop artist Elise Estrada and Rock Star INXS contestant Suzy McNeil of Toronto are among the new young music stars nominated for Canadian Radio Music Awards in 2008.

Estrada and Toronto vocalist McNeil each has two nominations, as do Vancouver band State of Shock, Mission, B.C., alternative rockers Faber Drive and Millbrook, Ont., singer-songwriter Serena Ryder

State of Shock's debut single Money Honey from the 2007 album Life, Love and Lies is up for three awards in rock, solo and adult contemporary categories.

It is competing in the rock category with Faber Drive , Tokyo Police Club of Newmarket, Ont., Toronto's Ill Scarlet and Vancouver's Pride Tiger.

Fans also have a chance to vote for their favourite Canadian artist, with a roster of big-name stars nominated for the Fans' Choice award.

They are Avril Lavigne, Finger Eleven, Nelly Furtado, Nickelback and Three Days Grace.

Alanis Morissette will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony, scheduled for Feb. 2008, as part of Canadian Music Week.

Two additional non-voting awards will also be presented at this year's ceremony: the FACTOR Breakthrough Award for top airplay for a new FACTOR supported artist, and The Chart Topper Award for top overall airplay.
